More Moroccan fresh fruit and vegetable exporters enter the European market

Moroccan exporter Fructimoor is entering the European market for the first time this season with forecasts of 800-1200 tons of tomatoes, green beans, and peppers.

The company relies on a network of plantations based in the Souss region. Mr. Mostafa Mohattan, commercial director of Frutimoor, said: "We have selected packing stations in the Agadir region, all of which are operating according to European standards. We have established agreements with these stations, allowing us to select only the best quality."

Fructimoor prepared for the export season by participating in international exhibitions and ensuring a presence in France. Mr. Mostafa explains; "We receive our products in France by our own means. This allows us to reduce costs and ensure quality control at the last mile".

The commitment to ensuring a quality product is present in all operations of the company, assures Mr. Mostafa. "Only products that meet the requirements of our European and global customers will be made available for export. We constantly conduct quality audits with our suppliers."

Taking the example of the very first shipment of exports, Mr. Mostafa continues: "If we take the example of the round Moroccan tomato and the intensive tomato used massively in the catering industry, which we're delivering in France at the end of November, we offer quality and calibers very close to the Spanish offer and we use high-quality packaging."

Fructimoor's first deliveries are destined for the Perpignan hub. The company plans then to expand to the rest of Europe and the Nordic countries; and is also looking for customers in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the United States. Mostafa concludes: "We place ourselves in a logic of complementarity and positive concurrence with the domestic production in these countries. We offer a good quality product when the market needs it."
