November 17, 18, and 19

Salobrena will host the First Andalusian Subtropical Fair

More than twenty companies in the sector and national and international professionals will participate in the First Andalusian Subtropical Fair that will be held in Salobrena's Sports Center on November 17, 18, and 19, which was presented by the mayor of the Villa, M.ª Eugenia Rufino, and the organizers of the Granada Más Association, Juan Manuel Fernandez and Francisco Perez.

"We're very excited that Salobrena has been chosen as the venue for this first edition because it can turn the town into a benchmark of subtropical cultivation in Andalusia, allowing all attendees to learn about the latest advances for the optimization of resources and improvement of fruits," stated mayor Rufino.

"The goal of this fair is to give visibility to the subtropical sector, which is a very important economic sector in the Tropical region. In addition to the exhibitors, there will be, in parallel, technical conferences that will address topics of great interest, such as the efficient consumption of water in crops, the application of new technologies to improve production, new treatments for plants, as well as the incorporation of the companies products in the retail sector," stated the president of Granada Más, Juan Manuel Fernandez.

In addition to the presentations for the professionals, different companies will showcase their products in stands, and the general public will be able to enjoy different activities in the afternoon, such as a cooking show, tastings, and sampling of products from the region.

Juan Manuel Fernandez also thanked the City Council of Salobrena, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development, the European Fund for Rural Development, and the fair's sponsors -the Provincial Council of Granada, Alcampo Motril, and the Cajamar group- for their collaboration and support to make this fair a reality.
