Willem ‘Bill’ Hofman, age 78, passed away on November 2nd. Bill was instrumental to the development of the greenhouse industry in the US.
Bill partnered with V&V Noordland in Medford, New York, in the 70s. He helped to build and develop the company to one of the biggest turnkey greenhouse companies, from the 70s until the 2000s. Bill was from the Netherlands, with a background in engineering, he was a true expert in this field. He put many greenhouses on the landscape in the US: commercial, retail, and institutional greenhouses. Friends and family, but also the whole horti industry, will surely miss him.
