Rain knocks Nagpur's orange crop down by 50% in India

The winter orange crop in Nagpur, India is down by 50% following damage caused by incessant rain. The quality of the oranges are also affected with smaller fruits being delivered to the Kalamna wholesale market.

Producers are naturally disappointed that up to half their crops are damaged. The worse quality is also affecting prices in the market at the Friday auction. They are now looking forward to the second crop, in January to February to make up for the losses, with better quality and bigger sizes of oranges expected.
