80% of Chilean cherries are shipped to China every year. It has become a popular fruit in autumn and winter as it is on the market from November to February of the following year. The first batch of Chilean cherries this year was airlifted to China on October 30. RT-Mart has taken the lead to put the fruits on their shelves in 70 stores in East China, becoming one of the first retailers to sell its first batch of cherries.
RT-Mart fruit buyers revealed that the starting price of cherries this year is 100 yuan/box lower than last year's, which means 20 yuan/kg cheaper. Because the first batch of goods is limited, customers who want to buy a large volume of cherries still have to wait a bit longer. But for customers who want to try it out, the "first bite" price this year is lower than last year.
RT-Mart plans to purchase 360 tons of cherries directly from Chile this year. In order to ensure the appearance and taste, it only purchases the No. 3 color with a sugar content of more than 15. In addition to the earliest sales in offline stores, RT-Mart also started online pre-sale for the first time this year. Consumers can place an order on the RT-Mart Youxian APP and get the fruits delivered to their homes on November 25.
The first batch of cherries has been put on the shelves in RT-Mart stores in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, etc., and more than 400 other RT-Marts distributed in more than 230 cities across the country will also put cherries on their shelves one after another.
