"Kazakhstan is a very important market for us"

"The first day of the fair went really well," reported Omar Papi, CEO of Futura, when talking about the Agroworld fair in Almaty, Kazakhstan (November 2-4, 2022). "Kazakhstan is a very important market for us, and is managed by our company Futura Central Asia based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan."

"The climate was unexpectedly very positive, as people want to move on. Many investments, blocked because of the international geopolitical situation, are about to be resumed."

Futura works with fresh produce processing lines. Papi stressed that there are many exhibitors, yet few Italian ones. "We are meeting both existing and potential clients. 2023 is looking like a good year to start with some projects. Requests come mainly from clients who need to process apples, but also greenhouse vegetables such as tomatoes, bell peppers and cucumbers."

The only downside is that "many countries set up halls with companies and work as a team, while Italian businesses attend on their own, which costs more."

The Netherlands, Germany and Poland are well organized with missions financed by the public authorities so that costs can remain low for companies, which is especially important at the moment."

"Next week, we will attend Gulfood Manufacturing in Dubai. This market needs systems to sort and package greenhouse products such as tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers and eggplants."

"We are also showcasing our innovative electronic grading and packaging lines for dates."
