UK fresh food prices rise 13.3% in year to October - BRC
The cost of fresh food in British shops last month was 13.3% higher than a year earlier, the biggest annual increase in records going back to 2005, the British Retail Consortium said. The BRC, a trade body, said its broader measure of shop price inflation picked up to 6.6% in October from 5.7%, while food prices overall rose 11.6%, as the cost of less perishable foodstuffs rose more slowly than prices for fresh items.

Sweden: The merger between ICA Gruppen and Murgröna is completed
In ICA Gruppen’s report from the Annual General Meeting on 31 May 2022, it was communicated that ICA Gruppen AB (ICA Gruppen) and Murgröna Holding AB (“Murgröna”) had resolved that all assets and liabilities of Murgröna should pass to ICA Gruppen through a reversed merger by way of absorption. The notification of the merger has been registered with the Swedish Companies Registration Office (Sw. Bolagsverket). The merger is thereby completed. This means, among other things, that Murgröna’s assets and liabilities have passed to ICA Gruppen and that Murgröna has been dissolved.

US: Publix turns in 7.6% comp-sales gain for third quarter
Publix Super Markets kept up its strong sales growth pace in the fiscal 2022 third quarter but again saw instability in the stock market impact its bottom line.
