Exports from Rio Grande do Norte summarized growth in September this year, after the state showed a drop of 81.92% in August. With the resumption, growth was 214.74% (with a volume of US$ 49.1 million in sales) in September, compared to the August figures, whose movement was US$ 15.6 million in sales to the outside

The product adds up to US$327 million in 2022 and is responsible for 58% of exports this year. The second most important item on the agenda in the month were non-oleaginous fruits and nuts, fresh or dried, with a 14% share in the accumulated nine months of 2022. In this group of fruits and nuts, fresh or dried, the highlight is the sale of fresh melons, whose exports were of $9.5 million, watermelon ($6 million) in September.

The institutional director of the Brazilian Association of Fruit Exporters (Abrafrutas), Luiz Roberto Barcelos, explains that the contribution of fruit to last month's sales was due to weather conditions in Europe, the main consumer market for fruit growing in the state.
