Here's a chance to win an Adirondack chair

Bedford Industries will mark the three-year anniversary of its TagBack® program with a chance to win an Adirondack chair made with reclaimed plastic during The Global Produce & Floral Show, Oct. 27–29 in Orlando, Florida.

Bedford manufactures produce identification products including:  produce ties, Bib Ties®, ElastiTag®, PushTag® and CloseIt® bag closures. The Adirondack chair represents one way these products can be repurposed into other usable products given it includes post-production plastic Bedford captures during the manufacturing processes, which would otherwise be considered “waste.” Visitors to Bedford’s show booth #825 can enter their name into the drawing.

“It’s amazing to think that a material used to build a durable piece of outdoor furniture was once bunching and tagging fresh produce items,” said Bedford president Jay Milbrandt. “It’s exciting for us to do this all in-house – from manufacturing the original product to processing the returns, to molding the plastic lumber and assembling the chairs. We continue to work on building our production line and hope to have these products available for purchase in the future.”

To date, the program has received more than 152,000 lbs. of returned ties and tags. More than 95 brands participate by printing the TagBack logo to their millions of ties and tags distributed across the country.

Consumers can return accepted product in two easy ways: 1) dropping them at an in-store drop box or 2) mailing them directly to Bedford. There are currently more than 20 in-store drop-off locations with more being added regularly. Bedford offers two free dropbox sizes.
