Citrosol acquires Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica

Citrosol, a leader in post-harvest fruit and vegetable treatments and technologies in the Mediterranean basin and Peru and with high penetration in countries, such as South Africa, has announced that it has just completed the acquisition process of Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica, companies with significant market share in Spain and other countries.

"The incorporation of Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica will allow Citrosol to position itself in other segments, such as pome fruit and tubers, and in some countries in Asia and Latin America where it was not present or still had low penetration. It will also be able to strengthen its service to an increasingly global clientele with processing centers in various countries," the company stated.

Citrosol received legal counsel from the Villena&Asociados law firm, a specialist in business transactions, for the acquisition of Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica.

“The incorporation of Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica into our organization will be important for our growth strategy and contribution of value to the market. Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica have always focused on the customer and their corporate culture is very similar to ours. Since the beginning of the acquisition process, Citrosol has been preparing to increase the contribution of value to the current clientele of Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica," stated Jorge Bretó, Citrosol's managing director.

"Citrosol's service and innovation capacity will provide our customers with more added value and will be an important step for the professional growth of our workforce. Citrosol will now have our workforce, product portfolio, and equipment to become a global reference in the sector," stated Quico Cerdá, the sole administrator of Fomesa Fruitech and Brogdex Ibérica.

"This acquisition is a milestone for us. We are very proud of our management teams, which, with the support of the board of directors, have led the development and sustained growth of Citrosol in recent years, confirming the adequacy of our corporate culture focused on adding value for its customers since the beginning of Citrosol's activity in Spain in the 1960s," stated Juanjo Febrer, Citrosol's board of directors' chairman.
