New packaging solutions for the global market

In Madrid, Veripack will present a new approach to sustainability with innovative products and materials and increased client support. The Guillin Group, of which Veripack is part together with Nespak and Dynaplast, confirms itself as the packaging specialist and continues to invest in developing not just new plastic and cardboard solutions but also services that can help clients make informed choices.

"The priority remains that of helping our clients choose the right packaging for specific applications, guaranteeing the best storage and protection of fruit and vegetables while preventing food waste," reads a company note.

The company aims to diversify its offer thanks to a new mix of materials that will be presented at Fruit Attraction, where Veripack will welcome clients in Stand 3D11, hall 3.

"Safety, sustainability, and practicality: these are the factors Veripack is working on by developing new solutions. We have come up with innovative products that use various materials depending on the uses and specific needs of clients while keeping final consumers in mind. In addition to preserving the food, our objective is also to reduce the impact of the packaging. We work every day in terms of eco-design to enable people to consume products in a responsible way towards the environment, but also for economic and social sustainability."

The company will also present a new line of corrugated cardboard punnets with recycled PET lids - the Agripack range - and a line of smooth cardboard punnets with recycled PET lids - the Maxipack Cardboard Lid range. They are made with special water-repellent paper that withstands humidity, which is now a frequent problem for the cardboard packs used for fresh produce. In addition, these packets facilitate stacking, therefore store management, increasing visibility in supermarket sections. All punnets can be customized with high-resolution printing techniques.

Innovation also involved the fresh-cut range, with recycled PET bowls featuring an anti-fog treatment that improves the visibility of the product inside. Innovative inserts can also be added for increased service content for consumers and more visibility on the fridge counter.

Eco Soft is a single-material R-Pet punnet with a ventilated bottom for which we received positive feedback from clients, as it preserves the quality and integrity of delicate fruits such as strawberries without placing a pluriball on the bottom as, being made of a different material, it would limit proper recycling.

When it comes to sustainability, the company is looking for concrete solutions, such as the Pop (Prevented Ocean Plastic) brand. Together with the Guillin Group, Veripack confirms its partnership to create POP productions by recycling bottles collected from areas near the ocean in developing countries in South-East Asia.

These products hold the POP mark, i.e., in addition to what we would call 'domestic' recycled PET, there is also a considerable component of PET from recycled bottles collected in various parts of the world, especially Indonesia. Together with its group, Veripack thus helps local populations improve the quality of the environment as well as their quality of life, creating jobs and putting money towards local social and cultural initiatives to support environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

Thanks to the deep technical knowledge of the various materials, Veripack is also capable of verifying environmental impact in order to support their clients in choosing the best solution also from the point of view of sustainability.

The company is also able to provide LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) studies to their clients thanks to one of the most evolved software on the market recognized on an international level, which enables to estimate the overall environmental impact of packaging, providing scientific data on its life cycle, thus making it possible to clients to make informed choices based on reliable and measurable information.
