Rates will remain high until Diwali

Lemons are expensive in Navi Mumbai

In Navi Mumbai, lemons are expensive. The price of lemons had increased during the summer, reaching a high in the retail market. Now again, lemon production has been hit by rain and the supply of lemons in Maharashtra has dropped by 20 percent. Therefore, lemons, which were earlier available at Rs 50-60 per kg in the APMC market have now increased by Rs 70-80. In the retail market it has reached Rs 5-10 rupees per unit.

Due to the summer heat, production was low this year, so the price of lemons increased due to the increase in demand. Now the prices of lemons are steep again during the monsoon season. APMC imports lemons from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh.

Rates will remain high until Diwali festival
After Diwali (24 October), the arrival of lemon in the market will increase in the state. At that time, new product introduction will start. So after Diwali the rates will come under control. APMC businessman Chandrakant Mahamulkar has informed that lemon prices will remain high till Diwali.
