A new program from the Citrus Research Board is giving growers an additional opportunity to combat the spread of citrus greening, a disease spread by the Asian citrus psyllid that could decimate citrus groves.
The Citrus Research Board (CRB) with support from USDA Huanglongbing Multi-Agency Coordination Group launched the California Citrus Research and Field Trials (CA-CRaFT) project. The program is designed to demonstrate how to reduce, the severity of infestations on commercial citrus groves from Asian citrus psyllid (ACP),a sap-sucking, hemipteran insect that carries the disease huanglongbing (HLB).
