Egypt and New Zealand have maintained good relations since the official start of exchanges in the mid-70s. The African nation is currently looking to have different mangoes on NZ’s shelves soon.
The trade exchange varies from year to year. At the moment, it’s normally between NZD 300 to 350 mln per annum. In 2022, NZ’s exports to Egypt reached NZD 410 mln. Meanwhile, Egypt’s exports to NZ reached NZD 14 mln.
Last year an export plan for Egyptian oranges was set up and two months ago, Egypt and NZ signed off an export plan for limes, grapefruit and all sorts of citrus products. Next month, there will be the Joint Trade Commission, which will explore areas of trade promotion and investment.
