Summary of HEPRO Ltd on expoSE 2021

New vertical peeling machine well received by the asparagus sector

HEPRO® has developed another version of the HEPRO-1800 for the 2022 season, presenting it for the first time at the expoSE 2021 asparagus and berry fair in Karlsruhe. "The fair has shown us again that a large number of growers are now switching to the unique vertical peeling system. Many customers have heard about the perfect peeling result from neighboring farms. Even long-time (HEPRO) peeling non-customers ordered the HEPRO-1,800 at the show - this makes us really proud," says Christoph Wolter, Managing Director of HEPRO Ltd. "The perfect combination of peeling performance and peeling quality is the bestseller of the new season. We did not expect the high demand."

The new version of the HEPRO-1800 includes specially developed universal grippers. These grippers are now able to perfectly all the spears, from soup asparagus to jumbo asparagus. With only 12 cuts, the unique peeling technology produces excellent peeling results. The two variants of the HEPRO-1800 peel asparagus spears with a diameter of 8 - (32) 36 mm.

According to Hepro, enthusiasm for the vertical peeling process was particularly high at the Karlsruhe trade show.

Large machines in demand
"Due to the high level of interest in the large machines, we are currently going to expand our production capacities once again. We did not receive this many orders for the high-performance peeling machines placed at the trade fair two years ago. The coming increase in the minimum wage and the excellent peeling quality certainly contributed to the success of the trade show."

Highlight: Goods presented and sold 'on ice'
The "fresh on ice" concept promises something extra in the farm store and other retail places. The stainless steel construction, which is similar to a champagne chest, requires no electricity. One simply fills the chest with ice cubes or crushed ice to be able to present attractively packaged goods. "Fresh on ice" comes in a variety of designs and can enhance the presentation of peeled and packaged asparagus. "Products presented 'on ice' always have the promise of ultimate freshness and that something extra, says Christoph Wolter. "At expoSE, the ice was still in the box when the chilled products inside were already sold out!"

Innovation Award 2021: Hygiene meets design
The disinfection column "FOOTSTEP HYGIENE" combines disinfection with pure design. "Through our disinfection column, we want to offer a high-quality and sustainable alternative to annoying plastic products," says Christoph Wolter. On November 17, the Hepro team was presented with the expoSE 2021 Innovation Award by VSSE Managing Director Simon Schumacher. "The column will hold 3 or 5 litres, comes in various designs and requires very little upkeep. We are delighted to receive this award!"
