Fresh apple imports nearly 1.5 times higher in August 2022

In August 2022, China's fresh apple exports were 51,400 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 55.96%. Exports amounted to US$0.66 billion, a decrease of 56.32% year-on-year. The average price of exported apples was $1,285.04/mt, down 0.8% year-over-year.

The cumulative export volume from January to August was 457,200 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 26.27%. Exports amounted to $590 million, down 30.96% year-on-year.

In terms of imports, in August 2022, China's fresh apple imports were 13,300 tons, an increase of 149.22% year-on-year. Imports amounted to USD 29,213,736, an increase of 181.80% year-on-year. The average price of imported apples was $2,189.43/mt, an increase of 13.07% year-on-year.

The cumulative import volume from January to August was 74,500 tons, an increase of 38.80% year-on-year. The cumulative import value was US$167 million, an increase of 50.56% year-on-year.
