Record-breaking blueberry harvest expected in Washington

Blueberry season has officially arrived in Washington. Surprisingly, this year’s yield is expected to be enormous: the Washington Blueberry Commission is predicting the harvest will be record-breaking.

Washington Blueberry Commission Executive Director Alan Schreiber. “We are looking at the biggest blueberry harvest our state has ever had. Adding acreage again this year, the 24,000 total acres of Washington blueberries are expected to yield 180 million pounds this season.”

Many blueberry farms statewide are welcoming customers to come and pick their own blueberries.
