Grape cultivation is one of the central pillars of Goiás production. According to the Systematic Survey of Agricultural Production by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (LSPA/IBGE), grape production in Goiás should reach 1,698 tons in 2022, compared to the volume of 1,496 tons from last year.
The volume is still small compared to other states. Rio Grande do Sul, for example, is the largest national producer with 735,000 tons in the 2022 harvest. Pernambuco comes second, with 399,000 tons, followed by São Paulo (164,000 tons), Bahia (61,000 tons) and Paraná (56,000 tons). The production of Goiás occupies the 10th place in the national ranking.
