EURO-JABELMANN presents innovative plant technology at Potato Europe 2022

Vending machine and novel potato sorting system with sorting table for medium-sized potato companies

As an internationally operating machinery supplier, EURO-JABELMANN Maschinenbau Ltd has been a steady exhibitor at Potato Europe for many years. This year, too, the company from Lower Saxony will be making its presence felt. Trade visitors can expect several innovations in the field and processing technology, Managing Director Gitti Veurink-Bosmann told us.

Regarding marketing, EURO-JABELMANN Maschinenbau will present a machine for unpackaged potatoes and onions. Veurink-Bosmann: "In this vending machine, the products are not weighed until the consumer selects them and they are dispensed loose into a container brought along. Accordingly, the products to be marketed do not have to be weighed and packaged in advance by the farmer."

Sustainable and economical
An additional advantage in terms of the environment is that loose delivery saves packaging material, Ms. Veurink-Bosmann continues. "There is a special focus on sustainability here, which is ultimately in the interest of both the direct marketer and the consumer. Because the farmer in question doesn't need to buy additional packaging material, so the consumer in turn won't have to dispose of this waste."

Innovation for medium-sized potato farms
In addition, the machine specialist, which was founded in 1994, has developed and designed a new type of potato sorting system in combination with a sorting table. According to Veurink-Bosmann, the sophisticated system is particularly designed for a smaller throughput of up to four tons per hour, which is why the process is highly suitable for medium-sized farmers and processors. "With regard to investment plans, we note that, due to the pandemic, the area of direct marketing in particular has become much more relevant. Here we expect in the future that the demand for suitable machines and technology will increase," Veurink-Bosmann continues.

The exhibition program is rounded off by the proven machines such as bagging scales, brush machines, conveyor belts and also digging technology for potatoes.

EURO-JABELMANN Maschinenbau has been based in Itterbeck, Lower Saxony, for 28 years.
