Between January and May, Spanish fresh fruit exports increased by 2.10%, totaling more than 4,093 million euro.
In terms of volume, there was a slight 1.85% decline in exports despite the sharp decrease suffered by some fruits, such as apricots (-40.89%), cherries and cherries (-43.4%), peaches (-30.37%), plums (-19.96%), and nectarines (-14.82%).
In this sense, the global volume exported, which amounts to almost 3 million tons, was offset by an increase in the export volumes of some fruits, such as avocados (+14.16%), kakis (+34.19%), apples (+25.97%), and pears (+22.3%).
In the same period, the volume and the value of fresh fruit imports decreased slightly, standing slightly above 1.1 billion euro and 0.8 million tons. There was a sharp fall in orange and grapefruit imports (which fell by nearly -80%), mandarin imports (-57.13%), peach (-29.23%), avocado (-19%), and pear (-20.29%) imports. Persimmon (+93%), lemon (+84.41%), and nectarine (+65.28%) imports increased significantly.
