"Market demand for fresh-keeping products remains high as the fruit season in the northern hemisphere is in full swing"

Spain and Italy, two major producers of stone fruit, suffered from frost damage earlier in the production season, so the overall production volume of stone fruit in these countries declined. Production areas in Turkey and South Africa, where weather conditions were more favorable, benefited from this development.

Currently, the European stone fruit season is almost over. The market is dominated by late-season varieties. And stone fruits from South America are just entering the market now. In addition to the global shipping crisis, and the peak of harvesting activities in production areas across the globe, some production areas also struggle with labor shortages. Ripe fruit falls from the tree because growers are unable to harvest in time. And post-harvest processing is also delayed. Under these circumstances, there is a growing need for fresh-keeping products during storage and transport. Market demand for fresh-keeping products is growing stronger.

SPM Biosciences (Beijing) Inc. is a company specialized in post-harvest fresh-keeping services for fruit and vegetables. Their flagship product series is Angel Fresh, a product with applications for a wide variety of fruits. Company spokesperson Debby introduced fresh-keeping products suitable for peaches, apricots, and plums, and explained their strengths.

"1-MCP is a highly-effective fresh-keeping product that can extend how long peaches, apricots, and plums stay fresh in storage. Moreover, 1-MCP can loss of moisture, firmness, or flavor in storage or during transport. The use of 1-MCP in cold storage can extend the shelf life of plums and peaches by 50%-200%," said Debby. "1-MCP is widely used to keep fruit fresh in storage facilities around the world. And in combination with low temperatures and air conditioning, this method can keep fruit fresh for even longer."

One of the main products of SPM Biosciences is the Angel Fresh sachet. "Angel Fresh sachets come in many different sizes, which makes them suitable for any kind of packaging. And they can be used during any stage of the post-harvest supply chain, especially during retail. In addition, we can also manufacture customized fresh-keeping solutions on the basis of our client's requirements," said Debby.

SPM Biosciences (Beijing) is a professional fresh keeping company in China with their own R&D, analysis team, and service team. The company has almost 10 years of experience in the Chinese market. SPM Biosciences (Beijing) is already authorized in Argentina and the Dominican Republic and is looking for representations in other countries.

“We have a wide variety of fresh-keeping products and we hope to connect with vegetable wholesale dealers, exporters, packers, and retailers around the world so that together we can reduce fruit and vegetable waste during the various stages of the supply chain process. SPM Biosciences can provide free samples to interested parties.”
