"We grow 100% of our apricots in our own orchards"

The apricots that are grown in Turkey are in good demand with German customers this season, says Alanar marketing coordinator Yigit Gokyigit: “Alanar is a grower, packer and exporter of apricots. We are having a great season this year. Quality of the fruit is at its best right now. We’ve provided our apricots to leading supermarket chains across the globe for years. This year, we’re seeing an increasing demand from Germany and Central European countries.”

Gokyigit states that the company’s intention is to increase the production of their apricots over the next few years. “We grow 100% of our apricots in our own orchards, located in the Manisa region in Turkey. Even though our orchards still have young trees, we will be harvesting over 1,200 tons this year. We expect our crop to go over 2,000 tons annually in the next couple of years.”

Although Alanar has managed to find good destinations for their apricots, Gokyigit emphasizes they are still looking for more markets and supermarkets to send their produce to this season: “Our goal was to provide our high quality apricots to our remaining customers in western Europe. We also aimed to introduce this fruit to the new market. I’m so glad to see the satisfaction of our customers as well as the clients that receive our apricots for the first time. Everyone seems to be appreciating the quality.”

“We would like to provide our apricots to new customers this season. The varieties of our apricots are grown by a limited number of growers around the world. These assortments are very well known as the most demanded high-end quality apricots by importers!” Gokyigit concludes.
