This week Fachjan reached an agreement with Gerrit Stolze to take over his Kentia nursery in De Lier (NL). The 1.4-hectare greenhouse will be purchased by Fachjan as of November 2022, but the stock has been purchased by Fachjan as of Monday 4 July and is offered via the fixed channels and Floriday.
Stolze was looking for a party that could continue his business and found a suitable partner in Fachjan. The Kentia is a familiar product for Fachjan, and it is also popular with the various customer groups that Fachjan supplies. Because quality is paramount at both Stolze and Fachjan, and the working methods matched each other, a match was quickly made.
Stolze Kentia will be kept intact as much as possible because it has a good reputation in the market. In this way, the staff will be retained, and Gerrit will continue to work for the company so that the cultivation knowledge is not lost. However, the sale of the Kentia will go through Fachjan, who will thus be a valuable addition to the range.
Due to this development, Fachjan will grow to approximately 11 hectares of glass.
