Passion fruit from Vietnam cleared for import to China from July 1

According to the National Animal and Plant Health and Epidemiology and Quarantine Consulting Office (SPS) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, the General Administration of Customs of China issued a document agreeing to import passion fruit from Vietnam in a pilot form from July 1.

Based on the requirements of the General Administration of Customs of China, passion fruit exported to China must meet the requirements on packaging specifications, pest control, planting area code, file preservation, etc., to ensure product quality and food safety.

The General Administration of Customs of China also recommended that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam cooperate with the sampling inspection of export products. In addition, the passion fruit production process must comply with the requirements of good agricultural practices such as VietGAP, GlobalGAP, etc.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam will submit a list of passion fruit export enterprises to the General Administration of Customs of China every year. The list will be published on the official website of the General Administration of Customs of China after approval.

China's agreement to import passion fruit from Vietnam is the result of long-term negotiations and efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam to promote the market opening.
