The first offers grape varieties “Rizamat” and “Kishmish Kora” (Black Kishmish) of the new Uzbek crop appeared on the domestic market on the 20th of June 2022. Now, these crop have arrived on the shelves of the capital’s supermarkets.
These grape varieties are among the most popular grown in Uzbekistan. According to the results of a survey by EastFruit specialists in May 2021, Kishmish Kora (Black Kishmish) became second in the popularity rating after the Khusayne variety, with its varieties and clones, and Rizamat and Rizamat F-1 – third along with such varieties as “Mercedes” and “Toyfi”.
Starting from June 20, 2022, the first offers for the supply of small batches of Rizamat grapes from producers appeared on the domestic market and offers for Kishmish Kora (Black Kishmish) began to arrive at about the same time. A week later, on June 27, 2022, the Korzinka.uz supermarket chain announced the start of sales of Rizamat grapes at 74 990 UZS/kg ($6.9).
According to market participants, as of June 28, 2022, wholesale prices for Kishmish Kora grapes range from 15 000 to 27 000 UZS/kg (from $1.4 to $2.5), for Rizamat — from 40 000 to 60 000 UZS/kg (from $3.7 to $5.5) depending on the quality and region of the country. Their supply volumes on the market are still small.
