“The commerce of fruit destined to industrial processing has the limit of being a seasonal job, usually between August and November. So the idea came to us to diversify by introducing a range of healthy processed products, appreciated by consumers looking for organic products and a controlled chain. We started with a small production of dried fruit, 100% fruit juices and fruit-derived products under the "DARIO" brand destined to the local market," explains Andrea Dario, owner of Dario Rino di Dario Andrea & C sas.
Dario Rino di Dario Andrea & C. sas is a historical company located in Belfiore d’Adige that has been commercializing fruit for industrial use since the 1960s, especially apples and pears grown using traditional, organic or controlled techniques, also for baby food. The fruit is destined all over Europe, to the processing industry for the production of concentrated juices, purées, powders, diced fruit, sliced fruit and many other products.
In the heart of a territory filled with orchards, Dario's collection center can process on average 400/500 tons of fruit a day, especially fruit grown by local companies not suitable for the fresh market. Two trucks are dedicated to delivering packaging and collecting the produce from the fields. The main warehouse features cold storage cells, loading ramps and a photovoltaic plant that makes the company self-sufficient when it comes to energy.
"Apple juice, which is also obtained from organic produce, is our leading product, followed by pear juice, grape juice and other variants we mix with apple as a base: cherry, kiwifruit, apricot, peach, blueberry and plum. Juices are processed naturally with 100% fresh apples and packaged in high UV protection glass bottles available in the 250 ml, 500 ml and 1 l formats, while larger formats are requested mostly by hospitality facilities. Once open, it can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days.
"Our laboratory produces fruit juices, dried fruit and chocolate-covered dried fruit under our own brand and for third-party companies. Quality is constantly monitored by operators with state-of-the-art equipment. A scrupulous HACCP system follows all phases, from the collection and the sorting of fruit to packaging. We work with a network of businesses located all over Italy so they can grow and find a profitable outlet for their production. Large quantities and quality checks go hand in hand with a reliable traceability system, everything to provide guarantees to the processing industry and final consumers."

The health aspect should not be overlooked, as a 100ml glass of juice has the same nutritional content as 3 apples. Our juices are destined mainly to specialized stores and the premium range of big retail chains and they have immediately been welcome by consumers, especially in northern Italy. In the future, we aim at expanding our range with cider and apple vinegar."
