June apple tracker reports U.S. apples in storage still up

According to a survey from USApple, the total number of apples in storage on June 1, 2022, was 44.4 million bushels, 10.7 percent more than last June’s total of 40.1 million bushels and 8.3 percent above the five-year average for that date.

Fresh apple holdings this June totaled 32.1 million bushels, 15.9 percent more than the inventories reported for last June. Processing holdings totaled 12.3 million bushels, 1 percent less than last year on June 1.

This report captures more than 95 percent of the national storage capacity. The US Apple Association thanks all participants and welcomes suggestions and comments about how to improve it.
