Imported fruit prices fall

Dragon Boat Festival is approaching, fruit sales usher in a small peak

The Dragon Boat Festival is approaching, and a variety of summer seasonal fruits are on the market. At present, the fruit trading volume in the market has increased with the festive atmosphere, and seasonal fruits such as lychee, watermelon, and bayberry have become popular in the market.

Watermelon and lychee occupy the leading position in sales
In Nonggangcheng, Taizhou, there are many varieties of watermelons, such as Qilin, Xiaofeng, Huanglang and others. Among them, the Huanglang watermelon is in the leading position. Huanglang watermelon is the most popular because of its sandy texture and high sweetness. At present, the price of Huanglang watermelons is 5RMB/kg, which has dropped significantly compared to when it was first launched, and the sales volume is also increasing day by day.

The lychee varieties currently on the market are mainly Feizixiao and Baitangying. Due to a slight increase in lychee production this year, prices are down compared to the previous period and even the same period last year. At present, the most popular variety is Feizixiao, and the price is about 18RMB/kg.

The best time to enjoy lychees is around the Dragon Boat Festival. When the Guiwei lychees hit the market in June, they will usher in the peak sales.

Prices of bayberry and peach continue to shoot up
At present, only Fujian Zaomei, Yunnan Bayberry and Xishuangbanna Bayberry are on the market. The price of each box is 130RMB(4.5kg), 280RMB(3.25kg), and 360RMB(3.25kg). Although the price of bayberries remains high, the demand remains.

Peaches from Kuocang, Linhai, will be available in large quantities next week. Due to the poor production this year, the price will not drop compared to the earlier batches on the market, remaining at 7-8RMB/kg.

Imported fruit prices fall
Now the imported fruits on the market are mainly durian, mangosteen and others. The item with the biggest drop recently is imported durian, which used to cost 1,300RMB per box (17.5kg), but now only costs 650RMB, a 50% drop in price. However, some sellers said that the price of durians will rise in the upcoming period.
