The harvesting and commercialization campaign at Superpippo, a company located in Mazzarrone (Sicily), started over one week ago and is currently in full swing.
The early varieties are well-known and appreciated by the chain. We are talking about Victoria and Black Magic, to which seedless white grape varieties are added. The latter are much appreciated abroad and mainly by Millennials, while the first two boast consumers of all ages in Italy, Europe and the Middle East.

"This year too, the sweetness of our grapes is giving us great satisfaction. We start with Victoria, which hovers around 16° Brix, then there is Black Magic, with some batches reaching 17° Brix. Seedless grapes are slightly lower at the moment, yet they are not harvested below 15° Brix. The weather has been warm and sunny over the past few weeks, so bunches have ripened well," explains Pippo Caggia.
Vineyards are located between Mazzarrone (CT) and Licodia Eubea (CT) and cover 50 hectares in total of early grapes that will last until July. Plus there are trusted suppliers in the Palma di Montechiaro (AG), Acate (RG) and Santa Croce Camerina (RG) areas. The campaign of medium-late grapes will start in August.
"We supervise our direct and indirect crops throughout the entire year to achieve only the best batches. After all, our markets are located all over the world thanks to cold storage and follow high-quality routes - from the Middle East and North America to Europe (Eastern Eruope) and Asia."
