On May 18, the Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan and Belarus Ali Asadov and Roman Golovchenko discussed issues of further development of economic cooperation. The parties expressed satisfaction with the development of economic ties, despite the consequences of the pandemic.
Golovchenko was quoted saying: “Last year, the trade turnover between the countries amounted to $885.5 million.” The Belarusian prime minister proposed to organize the production of grain harvesters and other agricultural machinery, as well as electric buses, on the basis of the Ganja Automobile Plant with the participation of Belarusians.
He also spoke in favor of the growth of mutual imports and exports. Azerbaijan imported tomatoes, strong alcoholic drinks, cooked or canned fruits and nuts, fresh fruits, fruit and vegetable juices, meat and edible offal of poultry, potatoes, clays and other goods from Azerbaijan in 2021.
