The procedure relating to the export of Moroccan citrus fruits to the Japanese market is at its final stage. This was confirmed during the meeting held last Monday in Rabat between Mohammed Sadiki, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Waters and Forests, and his Japanese counterpart Arata Takebe.
The ministers also announced the launch of preparations for a comprehensive cooperation agreement in their respective fields. The latter will be signed this summer.
The two ministers reviewed the possibility of developing tripartite cooperation with African countries in the agricultural, fisheries and agro-industry sectors.
Agricultural trade between Morocco and Japan amounts to an average of 200 million DH, with a predominance of Moroccan exports which average around 180 million DH annually, and mainly include coriander seeds, frozen strawberries, seaweed and thyme.
