Lychees were launched onto the market recently, and the price is between 20 yuan and 50 yuan/kg, slightly higher than in the same period last year. At present, the lychees sold in Yulin are all foreign lychees, and the local lychees will not be available until June.
According to sellers, the popular varieties of lychee include Baitangying and Feizixiao. The price of Baitangying is about 50 to 56 yuan/kg, while the price of Feizixiao is about 36 to 40 yuan/kg. They can sell about 100 kg per day. Due to the early listing and small production, the price of lychees is high, although it has slipped recently. At present, the production of lychees low and the supply is limited, and the price is slightly higher in the same period last year. However, early lychees from Guangzhou will also enter the Yulin market in a week, and the price of lychees will be included in a new round of reductions.
For now the price of lychees is high mainly because they are still at an early stage. As the lychee ripens and more lychees enter the market from other regions, the price will gradually return to normal. Local lychees generally start listing on June 1 and end on July 15. The fruiting rate of lychees is good and high this year, and it is expected that lychee production in Yulin will reach 233,000 tons this year, an increase of 13% over the same period last year. In mid-June, a number of varieties such as Dingxiang, Heiye, and Guiwei will be listed in large quantities.
