Thanks to more than half a century of experience in the fruit and vegetable sector, the Albani family founded a growers' association in 2016, which currently includes around 60 Sicilian cultivation companies.
"We have always believed in the collaboration between cultivation companies," said Salvatore Albani, president of OP Albani. "Based on this idea and the desire to supply only high-quality vegetables, we cultivate more than 170 hectares of land in the Sicilian fruit and vegetable areas of Ragusa, Vittoria, Acate, and Santa Croce. Camerina to Gela, Niscemi, and Mazzarrone."
OP Albani grows greenhouse vegetables on 150 hectares, open-field vegetables on 10 hectares, and Mazzarone grapes on 10 hectares.
"We harvest and process tons of fruit and vegetables on a daily basis
with excellent quality standards. We market the products through wholesale markets and supermarket chains in Italy and other European countries. We supply fresh, tasty, and above all healthy fruit and vegetables all year round," said Salvatore Albani (pictured on the right).
"We work with two different product lines and brands: 'I Tradizionali' and 'Gli Assoluti'. The first brand includes a selection of tomatoes (cherry, datterino, piccadilly, oxheart, and ribbed tomatoes), round and purple eggplants, peppers, cucumbers, courgettes, beans, artichokes, and Mazzarrone grapes. The other brand is for the top-quality products for which we use innovative cultivation techniques, supervise the quality extremely carefully and make minimal use of plant protection products. The products are distinguished by their consistently perfect ripeness, high brix value, exceptional taste, and original and innovative packaging."
