Cold rooms for the short-and long-term storage of fruit and vegetables; controlled atmosphere cold rooms; cold cells for bananas; processing rooms (fresh-cut); pre-cooling spaces; mechanized cold rooms; tunnel freezers; refrigeration of liquids for industrial fruit processing; low temperature cold rooms for the storage of frozen products, and vertical farming, are the most important products that Monti & C. offers to Italian and foreign entrepreneurs. Monti & C.'s customers include some of the most efficient operators involved in the production, processing and marketing of horticultural and food products as well as supply chain logistics platforms for the distribution of cold chain products. In the seed/vegetable sector, the main installations are indoor and outdoor isothermal cells; computerized germination plants; multipurpose plants for germination and cold storage of horticultural and floricultural seedlings; climatic cabinets for germination tests; prefabricated cells and cabinets with seed drying and storage systems.
"We have just recently presented, and will be presenting again to Macfrut visitors, the new system for plants with commands from web browser and app, where both customers and our service department can monitor, and save on a dedicated cloud, all the climatic values of a cell. Our PLC is made to customer specific requirements and meets all the requirements for Industry 4.0."
"Our company, founded in 1947, is involved in the design, supply, construction and installation of cells and isothermal complexes, including commercial, industrial and experimental refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The sectors of intervention are many, among which are the fruit and vegetable and horticultural sectors, including vertical farms, trade, logistics and retail. In recent years we have taken enormous steps, using more and more electronic components for the management of the plant, removing the use of electricity wherever possible, reusing the wasted energy of the plant and controlling and monitoring systems of climatic values inside the isothermal rooms," continued Papini.
In regard to Vertical Farming, the two owners believe that in certain geographical areas, worldwide, it will become a fundamental factor in the future. "With a careful design of internal lighting, air conditioning, ventilation, fertirrigation and control of all parameters, we can achieve excellent qualitative results of the product, optimizing electrical consumption, costs and simplified maintenance. But above all, it cuts the initial costs."
