Epagri/Ciram carried out the satellite mapping of 15,684 ha of apple orchards in Santa Catarina and confirmed that São Joaquim is consolidated as the largest producer of the fruit in Brazil. It encompasses an area of 8,692 ha, representing 26% of all country orchards.
The research also served to corroborate that Santa Catarina continues to lead this production chain, reinforcing the IBGE surveys that state that the State accounts for approximately 48% of the planted area in Brazil. Research identified 15,684ha of apple orchards in SC (Epagri Publicity)
