Onion exports from Uzbekistan up sharply in past three weeks

Over the past three weeks of April 2022, Uzbekistan exported 9,300 tons of onions, which is 6.6 times more than in the three months of January to March. Kazakhstan became the main importer of Uzbek onions in three weeks of April.

According to the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, the volume of onion exports by months in 2022 is as follows: January – 640 tons, February – 536 tons, March – 243 tons, and 1-20 April – 9,328 tons. Moreover, onion exports from Uzbekistan in 20 days of April 2022 were twice higher than the exports in the same period last year.
