"The period of the pandemic paradoxically helped NTB to be more appreciated for its services. Since it was impossible to visit the productions on site, the commissioners relied on Next To Business. Trust is essential, but it was obviously supported by technology, like video calls. A key service for some of our overseas clients has been the collection of samples for multi-residual analysis. NTB was born to support the development of Sicilian SMEs that intend to operate on the national and international markets and, at the same time, for all the companies that would like to interface with the Sicilian territory. The company is led by the CEO Romina Roccasalvo, assisted by the partner Angelo Galifi.

Regarding logistics, thanks to the collaboration with the partner Gali Group Trasporti, which boasts a fleet of more than 180 temperature-controlled vehicles, Next To Business manages a good part of the fleet in Export and Import in complete autonomy, which opens the doors to Europe (intermediation and national and international logistic consultancy, picking, management of transport to destination and eventual sale of the returned goods).
"We provide services also on the business consulting front, with commercial intermediation and services dedicated to the entire food sector. In addition, NTB assists foreign and northern Italian customers, large-scale retail trade, who buy in Sicily in all phases from the planning, harvesting, processing, up to the supply to supermarkets".
Quality control is another plus: "We select and control all the goods departing from Sicily, manage any returns, make photographic report, temperature control at departure, verification of labels," Romina says.
"Two years of Covid 19 have unfortunately brought difficulties and several problematic issues in the management of our work. On top of all this, a transport strike in Italy was also to be mentioned. The disproportionate increase in fuel and other raw materials has affected many choices and, as if that were not enough, to make everything worse there is now the war in Ukraine. There is nothing left for us to do but continue working, hoping that we can return to a normal situation, and above all, that the conflict will end soon. We will find a remedy for all the other things, like we have always done," concludes Romina Roccasalvo.
