Cainiao Smart Logistics Network recently announced a dedicated route for chartered planes carrying fresh produce between Kuala Lumpur and Shenzhen. Cainiao relies on the digitized logistical capacity of their eHub in Kuala Lumpur to ship characteristic Malaysian durian varieties from production areas to Shenzhen within four hours. The durian travel from farm to table in only four hours.
The 'Musang King' durian is known as the 'Hermes of durian'. Cainiao prepares unique packaging for each durian to guarantee optimum flavor. Moreover, the durian are kept fresh with refrigeration technology throughout every stage of the supply chain. Technology allows for the visualization of temperature control and regulation.

The Cainiao fresh produce planes fly three times a day and carry 13 tons each time. The pandemic greatly reduced the number of regular and chartered flights. These chartered flights will help stabilize fresh produce distribution between Southeast Asia and China. The flights also help Malaysian companies expand their share in the Chinese market. In addition to the Kuala Lumpur-Shenzhen line, Cainiao also plans to open dedicated routes from Australia, Singapore, and Indonesia to China. These flights will help strengthen connectivity and stability in air traffic throughout the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
The Cainiao eHub is located in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and consists of more than 100,000 square meters of warehouses and logistical facilities, including air cargo stations, distribution centers, and order fulfilment centers. Three Malaysian airports feature Cainiao B2B logistics that allow direct export to 174 ports in 55 countries. The three Malaysian ports are Klang West Harbor, Klang North Harbor, and Johor Bahru Tanjung Pelepas.

Liu Shuohu, vice-president of the export department at Cainiao, described the opening of the Malaysia-China route a milestone for the Cainiao KL eHub as this is the first direct chartered flight that transports fresh produce in both directions between Malaysia and China. The chartered flights are important for the development of Sino-ASEAN trade relations, as well as the regional development of a digitized economy.
The Cainiao Electronic World Trade Platform Hub (eWTP Hub) officially launched on the 11th of November. Cainiao has steadily invested in global distribution in the last few years and gradually constructed the necessary infrastructure to ensure the support of AI distribution for the smooth operation of international trade.
