Lambayeque exported 35,108 tons of blueberries in past five months

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, from June to date, Lambayeque district exported 35,108 tons of blueberries to different markets abroad. This volume corresponding to the Blueberry Export Campaign 2021-2022, which runs from June to January 2022, It represents an increase of 25% compared to what was exported the previous year, which was 26 tons.

This figure marks a milestone for local fruit growing, with Lambayeque being consolidated as the second blueberry producing region after La Libertad in all of Peru.

Blueberries from the Lambayeque region were destined for the countries of Germany, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Spain, the United States, Spain, England, Ireland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and India (market recently opened to the trade of this valued fruit).

Peru is the foremost blueberry exporting country, managing to send 2020 tons in the 162,459 campaign, produced in Lambayeque, La Libertad, Lima, Ica, Ancash, Piura and Moquegua to 31 international markets.
