During Fruit Attraction in Madrid, Otflow gave a live demonstration at its stand. It showed how its air distribution mat optimizes the airflow within a refrigerated container. The company had developed a 1:10 scale model of a refrigerated container, complete with airflow. They used it to demonstrate, to traders, the Otflow's effect during sea transport.

This video shows CEO Ronald Hagenstein giving a live demonstration. You can see that there is strong air circulation in an empty container. It, however, decreases significantly when you place pallets in that container. If you put fruit boxes without pallets in the same space, the airflow remains strong.
"It's clear that using pallets for shipping is detrimental to the [container's] airflow. We don't want to say that it's better not to use them. That would mean you'd have to load and unload all the boxes by hand. But we do show that by using the Otflow, you can undoubtedly maintain a strong airflow. And you can use pallets for transportation. Better airflow means less food waste, fewer claims, and less financial loss," says Ronald.
