Demand for citrus fruit is high on both the Italian and international markets. "We are seeing a gradual increase in orders, but it is the European customers who are driving sales. The Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium and the United Kingdom are the countries with whom we have the most business. We also supply the Italian market, especially in the northern cities and to the best-known supermarket chains,” said Giuseppe Zuccarella of the Italian growers’ association Zuccarella.
Common clementines
"The season has started well, firstly with the Clemenruby and now also with the varieties Orogros and Caffin, which are harvested both in the Sibari plain and in the Metapontino area. We have also begun selling the Navelina ISA 315, VCR and Newhall orange varieties. The first pallets of plain clementines, both with leaves and defoliated, have also now begun their season. The color is excellent, and the brix value is around 14. Guaranteeing quantity, continuity and quality in supply is what we excel at. We have a large catalogue of varieties, which allows us to be present on the markets for about 10 months a year."
Navelina ISA 315 oranges
"Despite the increase in raw material prices, we prefer to provide our clementines and oranges with fully recyclable and different packages depending on the market demand and the sales channel. We strongly believe in personalized and creative packaging, not only because it is essential to increase the brand awareness and identification, but also because we want to build a mutually beneficial relationship with our customers."

"Temperatures are still quite mild and normally this is a sign that citrus is not among consumers' favorite products at the moment. However, the demand in these first weeks tells us otherwise. For the time being, prices remain high, partly due to the low quantities. Clementines have dropped by 25% to 30% and oranges by more than 50%."
