Sebastian Dörmann from Frische Logistik Ltd in Bielefeld/Herfeld emphasizes that quick reactions have played a major role recently: "This year in particular, it was extremely important to be able to count on a logistics company that responds sensibly, so that special requests from retailers can be implemented at short notice. This was particularly important as a nationwide shortage of available personnel and other challenges required safe and effective action. "Since our launch in February of this year, we have made a good start in the market. Since then, we have been able to continue to expand our fleet of vehicles in the chiller sector, upgrading the starting fleet by about 25%. We are always free and open to new contacts and partnerships."
The logistics company will soon turn its attention to the Spanish season, now that the German season is slowly coming to an end. Although the service and transport company only started its work in February 2021, it is already active throughout Germany. Managing Director Sebastian Dörmann told us that he was very pleased with the German season, as they were able to establish many contacts with new customers.
Frische Logistik is part of Frische aus Westfalen Ltd and is dedicated exclusively to fruit and vegetable logistics. "We can store fruit and vegetable products in a temperature-controlled manner, fine-pick them, label them and, of course, transport them to the end customer. These services all originate from our own hands. We actually travel to all sizes of food retailers on a daily basis. We have specialized in cross-docking, which means we can combine everything from one pallet to another, but we are now also equipped to handle partial and full loads," says Dörmann.
Although the increasing costs and the acute shortage of drivers are also causing problems for Frische Logistik in isolated cases, he says that many drivers were also added to the team last season. "In addition to food retail, we also supply wholesale markets. Special requests are also implemented by us accordingly," Dörmann said.
