Martignani is a leading company in Italy and exports all over the world. Video below.

Agriculture 4.0 also in the field of sprayers

"My father Claudio, an engineer, was among the first researchers in the field of electrostatic charging and low volumes for sprayers 40 years ago. Even in the 1980s he was thinking about what we now call zero residue. We are now continuing on this path, applying all the latest technologies, including those related to agriculture 4.0," said Stefano Martignani, head of the Italian company based in Sant'Agata sul Santerno (Ravenna).

The company (founded in 1958) is known worldwide for the design and construction of agricultural sprayers for the sustainable use of pesticides. "Very often, it is the customer that inspires us to come up with tailor-made solutions. We listen to what the entrepreneurs ask of us and devote all our efforts to finding suitable solutions for different types of crops, locations and cultivation techniques," said Martignani.

After 2020, thanks to the tax credit, it is possible to obtain benefits for the purchase of new sprayers. "We can equip our devices with control units to control spraying and transmit data instantaneously, so we can meet the parameters of agriculture 4.0. Among other things, a special sensor system detects the presence of plants and interrupts distribution between one plant and another, which is very useful, for example, when plants are young and there are large gaps between them.

The sprayers can also be fitted with special nozzles for the distribution of biological defense products, while a large part of the research is dedicated to anti-drift and anti-drip systems.

The company exports to all continents. In recent years, sales have been growing in Spain, Greece, Israel, as well as South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, Chile, Peru and Mexico, to name a few.

"Our machines are reliable and easy to manage, but they are also of a high technical grade and our customers are generally structured companies that aim to achieve the best results by saving water and active ingredients. That's why we have an in-house research and development department. Last year, we filed two patents in 2020, and another two will be filed shortly,” continued Martignani.

The company, founded by engineer Claudio Martignani, has 63 years of history behind it. In the field of sprayers, it started by assembling machines based on a Dutch patent with exclusive use for the area under license.

"Everything started back then, and today, as in the past, we are pursuing the path of innovation to advance Italian and international agriculture," concluded his son Stefano.
