2021 Expoalimentaria Perú digital fair ends with positive figures

Expoalimentaria Perú, the date with the Peruvian agrifood sector, ended its 2021 edition, with very positive figures. The event, which once again took place online this year due to the pandemic, managed to bring together more than 1,700 professionals from all over the world.

On this occasion, 37 American companies took part in  Expoalimentaria Perú. They included buyers and distributors such as Nexus Trading, Global Agricultural Trading and Tradin Organic as well as producers and wholesalers such as World Fresh Produce, Bridgewell Agribusiness, Connect Naturals and UNFI. All with a shared objective: to strengthen and create new links with the Peruvian agrifood sector.

In addition to the business meetings, the participants were also able to access forums and seminars with technical discussions. A wide range of presentations that covered different aspects of the international agrifood business: logistics, production, innovation, sustainability, technological solutions and commercial opportunities in the post-Covid era.

The organisers of the fair expressed their great satisfaction with this edition. The president of the Peruvian Exporters Association (ADEX), Erik Fischer Llanos, highlighted the strong progress of Peruvian agrifood exports and the great opportunity to showcase Peru as a leader for the supply of functional foods. “Our superfoods, such as cranberries, avocados and Andean grains, among others, continue to cause a stir. In addition to them, there are new products such as organic maca, which had an interesting impact thanks to its nutritional value. The fair showed our capacity to adapt in accordance with the requirements of this post-pandemic phase, such as new demands in terms of quality and safety” he explained. 

In turn, the executive president of PromPerú, Amora Carbajal, praised the work of ADEX for its organisation of the 2021 Virtual Expoalimentaria Perú, one of the most important fairs in the sector in Latin America and the most emblematic in the country. “It fills us with pride as thanks to it, the quality of our range exported around the world is highlighted, the fair is backed by the sector brands Superfoods Perú, Pisco Spirit of Peru and Café del Perú, which PromPerú promotes in international markets” she stated.

The organisers have already announced the dates for the next edition which will return to the on-site format on 21, 22 and 23 September at the Jockey Exhibition Centre in Santiago de Surco.
