Major Peruvian agrifood trade show Expoalimentaria Peru is back online for 2021

Once again this year, Expoalimentaria Perú (Peru Food Fair) is taking place. The Peruvian agrifood fair is organised by the Peruvian Exporters Association (ADEX) and supported by Promperú. Just like in 2020 and due to the international situation, the most important food fair in Latin America and Peru is being held virtually.

Since last Thursday, 30 September, and up until 8 October, agrifood professionals from around the world will be able to get to know the 204 exhibitor companies, hold business meetings and attend the many activities organised on the digital platform. An ambitious event, which brought together more than 500 buyers last year, generating more than two thousand business meetings.

This specialised fair which is now into its third edition acts as a promotional showcase for Peru´s export offer to the world. The main Peruvian products include superfoods such as quinoa, maca, chestnuts and sacha inchi as well as fresh products such as mango, avocado, ginger, grape and cranberry. Foods such as cacao and its derivatives, as well as processed products, fish products and alcoholic beverages such as pisco, the emblematic national drink, complete the offer.

The event is also the perfect setting for exporters who are looking to get a foothold in the Peruvian market. This year 37 American companies will be present at the event. The United States is the most important target market for Peruvian agrifood exports. Its value increased by 7.9% in 2020 compared to the previous year, reaching US$ 2.669 billion. Quinoa, maca, sacha inchi and chestnut are the Peruvian superfoods most exported to the United States.

Quality Peruvian products, all present in the virtual exhibition and grouped into the different pavilions: ‘Agroindustry’, ‘Capiscum’, ‘Cacao’, ‘Coffee’, ‘Containers and Packaging’, ‘Fruit and Vegetables’, ‘Beans’ and ‘Pisco’.

Also, and as a new addition this year, the fair is hosting the national pavilions of Argentina and Indonesia, an example of Peru´s good international collaboration with other agrifood powers.

Exhibitors and visitors to the exhibition will not only have the chance to meet virtually, they can also enjoy access to an extensive range of forums and seminars with technical discussions.
