It weighs only 4.8 kg and its maximum height is 7 cm. It is covered in stainless steel and has a 6-inch backlit display with intuitive, programmable keys. These are just some of the main features of the innovative Karmen scale, a tool designed and assembled for farmers by Rescina Service of Noicattaro (Bari). Giuseppe Rescina, technical manager and designer of the Apulian company spoke of this device.
"Karmen was born out of the need for farmers to avoid double handling of produce, first in the fields and then in the warehouse, and at the same time to speed up the harvesting process. It is a scale that allows the product to be packaged directly in the field, which can be attached to any type of support and where the crops are harvested".
"The stands, flat and tilt (adjustable in depth), also made of stainless steel, facilitate the packaging of agricultural products, supporting any type of container. This scale, in fact, has a maximum load of 25 kg; it can weigh both small baskets and large containers (max 40x60 cm)."
"Thanks to the movable helicoidal wire inside the display box, it is possible to control the display and the commands to facilitate the operator in checking the weight on the stands."

"In the last few weeks, we have been receiving a lot of requests from wine growers in Apulia, Sicily and Basilicata, as this scale is particularly suitable for table grapes, but can also be used for other fruit and vegetable products. It is a scale with a recharge autonomy of over 100 hours of work, robust, compact and easy to use. It's a piece of equipment that is a real boon for operators, enabling them to harvest more quickly and productively.
The price varies according to the quantity ordered. For a single scale, the cost is 249 euros (excluding VAT), over 10 units the price drops to 220 euros, while for those companies that decide to order more than 20 pieces, the price drops to 200 euros.
