Simple, easy to configure and use, and with no download costs. We are talking about Farmable, an application that has already allowed thousands of fruit and vegetable growers around the world to digitize the control of their farms, and which has recently had a big launch in Spain.
The application, developed by the largest Norwegian fruit producer based on the experiences, contributions and recommendations of more than 150 agricultural producers around the world, owes its success to its simplicity and ease of use. It aims to provide fruit and tree growers with a fully reliable digital tool for their daily decision making, allowing them to improve farm productivity in the short and medium term while using fewer resources and reducing their environmental footprint.
Farmable has been specifically designed by and for growers of woody crops (temperate and subtropical fruit trees, citrus fruits, olives, nuts, vineyards, berries), who thanks to this app started their digital journey, replacing physical notebooks and pens with their smartphones or tablets for the daily control of all their necessary operations.
Full control of fields, jobs, notes and harvest
Farmable allows you to map and monitor the farm, to take field notes (with GPS coordinates and images), to track the harvest, to plan and delegate tasks, to keep automated record keeping or to monitor how well a job is being done.
"One of the strongest points is that we have introduced the figure of the advisor in the app, allowing advisors, producers and other staff to work as a team and exchange observations and recommendations through a single application," says Elena Guillén, Director of Farmable for Spain.
To facilitate its use and respond to the needs of each farm, the mobile app is supported by a Farmable web platform designed to further facilitate crop management. While the mobile application functions as a data collection tool, this web portal allows for full farm monitoring. Also, in the desktop version, growers and advisors will be able to organize their data and analyze trends, as well as to export and process information related to their fields.
The Farmable Store
"In early 2022, the Farmable Store will be launched on the web platform. Payment modules will be offered to provide the producer with a broad portfolio of integrated solutions based on the requirements of each farm, as well as agricultural technology services and products, such as weather stations, soil sensors or aerial work with drones. The producers will decide, once they are ready, whether or not to adopt any of these extra services," says Elena Guillén. "In this way, users will have the option to integrate the services of our partner companies and have all their farm data on a single platform. It provides the producer with the necessary tools to help them make decisions, which results in a better management of their resources and increased crop yields," says Farmable's director for Spain.
Thanks to the software's continuous development, the app is frequently updated and enhanced, thereby meeting the demands of all producers with new features, always aiming to facilitate the task of collecting, storing, organizing and making use of the information about the farm.
Launched in 2019, Farmable is currently already used in countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, The Netherlands and now in Spain.
