FruitHydroSinni: "We will double our production of strawberries and tomatoes"

Sharp rise in demand for nickel and histamine-free processed products

"We began with the aim of providing solutions to a niche market, i.e., those consumers who suffer from food allergies and intolerances, an issue that is very dear to us and which stems from a family problem. We would never have imagined that, in a short time, our products could be purchased by everyone, and not just Italians," explained Ivan Santarcangelo, production manager of FruitHydroSinni, a company that produces fruit, vegetables and various processed products free of nickel, histamine and all other heavy metals.

"Demand in this first part of 2021 has been remarkable (+200% compared to the same period last year), so much so that we have already finished the batches from last year's production. We are now putting on the market jars containing fruit and vegetables that we finished harvesting and processing a few weeks ago. Given the increase in demand in Italy and Europe and the imminent start of exports to the Arab Emirates, all destinations which are fascinated by our extensive catalogue of food intolerance and allergy-friendly products, we have decided to double the tomato and strawberry crops, so that we can face the likely increase in orders from next autumn with greater peace of mind."

"Among the best-selling products are red and yellow cherry tomato sauces (available in different sizes), basil pesto with only extra virgin olive oil, pickled cauliflower previously simmered in apple vinegar and strawberry jam. These products, which are free of preservatives and additives, are made exclusively from our aeroponic and hydroponic cultivations in Policoro (Matera). The idea of making them as simple and traditional as possible, allows our catalogue to be particularly preferred over more industrial references."

"Ninety per cent of our production is destined for processing of nickel- and histamine-free branded products, while the remainder is sold as fresh. The idea of increasing our catalogue of processed products is becoming more and more concrete, not only with other products (such as aubergines, broccoli, turnips, onions, etc.), but also with different vegetable pâtés, which can be used both as condiments for first courses and as appetizers".
